Tips for correcting text

You can quickly correct errors that Dragon NaturallySpeaking® makes as you dictate. When you correct errors, Dragon NaturallySpeaking® learns not to make the same mistakes again.

1. When you notice a mistake, pause in your dictation, and then say "Select" and the incorrect word or phrase. If the error is the last thing you said, you can just say "Select That." 
   Dragon NaturallySpeaking® highlights the word or phrase, and the Correction menu appears.

2. If the correct word or phrase is on the list, start spelling or choose it by saying, "Choose" and the number of that choice. For example, say "Choose 2." 

3. If the word or phrase you want is not on the list, spell the word, or say "Spell That," "Correct That," or just say the word again. The Spell dialog box appears. You can use this dialog box to spell or type the correct word. 

Notes

• The Correction tab of the Options dialog box lets you control the behavior of the Correction menu, including the commands that make it appear. 

• If you would rather not see the Correction menu every time you select text, you can turn it off. On the Correction tab of the Options dialog box, clear the box that says "`Select' commands bring up Correction menu." Then click Apply.
