is however possible to purchase a MIDI daughter card for the Fiji. It seems
that not having the MIDI on your Fiji is better since it can cause some
additional noise. This may also be true with the Montego as well. More
electronics can equal more potential noise. The Fiji works very well and with
the digital I/O and you could dictate to a DAT recorder and download to your
Fiji without loss or noise for after-the-fact transcription. The Fiji with
digital I/O costs more but I have other needs for this type of I/O for hard
disk recording.
