First question:
My battery meter in Windows 98 consistently reports that my brand-new
battery has only 75% of power available. This is true even when it is
fully charged. How do I recalibrate the Windows 98 power meter so that
it accurately reflects the true amount of power I have in my battery?
This isn't really a big deal when I am working at home because I am
working with the AC adapter plug in. However, it could become a really
big hassle when I am working from the batteries.
Second question:
As I said, I have a brand-new 9200 PC Mint laptop computer. However, I
don't seem to have all of the advanced power features listed in Windows
help. My Internet search seems to indicate that I need " Advanced
Configuration Power Interface" to take advantage of these features.
However, shouldn't I have these features since I have a new computer?
Additionally, can I obtain these features simply by changing my BIOS?
Voice activation related question:
Is there any way to turn off NaturallySpeaking's really annoying habit
of making contractions all of the time? I thought that perhaps it would
be better when I use a vocabulary from the Legal Suite. However, it
seems to make no difference. I typically write in a formal manner
because I am either writing for business or for Law school. It is not
considered proper to use words like we've, would've, I'd, you've, you'd
etc. I have tried to go in and change it through the vocabulary editor
with little or no success. As I reported before, because of my computer
crash I lost all of my documents that I would have run through the
vocabulary builder. Does anyone have any ideas?
For the record, I like my PC Mint. I am currently experiencing some
quirks in my system. Right now, I do not know if they are related to
the computer, microphone difficulties, Windows 98 difficulties or if it
is just me and my world renowned computer curse :-(. However, I haven't
a choice but to make this work because I have sent back the Everex and
the Dell. My only other option is my 90 MHz Gateway Solo.
