I have similar macros to your [start sentence] built also. My objective
with sentence commands would allow temporary continuous recognition with
DragonDictate for a few recognitions from the dictation vocabulary
without pausing while waiting for dictate mode to activate or having to
switch to NaturallySpeaking and then switch back to command mode and
from NaturallySpeaking to DragonDictate. The computer-aided drafting
System I run likes about 96 MB RAM. Running it with NaturallySpeaking
and DragonDictate at the same time slows down my computer too much. I
like DragonDictate sentence commands because they give me continuous
recognitions and save lots of time. I wish Dragon Systems would make
DragonDictate's dictation mode into continuous speech.

This may or may not help. I have a macro called [start
sentence] which does this:
HeardWord "[Dictate Mode]"
HeardWord "[No Space]"
HeardWord "[Shift Key]"
It leaves you in Dictate Mode, but sounds better than what you
are having to do right now.

Shawn,
I'm not sure, but I speculate that the Dictation vocabulary has
a special
status which doesn't allow it to be used in the manner which you
describe.
I'm pretty sure that you can use other vocabularies (without
using
subordinate "groups") in the manner which you describe.
I further speculate that it may be possible to export the
Dictation
vocabulary, tweak the exported file, and then import (say) as a
vocabulary
group in your application (or maybe as a system vocabulary
group??). If
this works, then it will probably be possible to achieve what
you want.
Good luck...please let us know what you learn.
