We have had an opportunity to test speech software on a Pentium II 400MHz
system with 128MB RAM. It ran considerably faster in comparison with a
200MHz Pentium, but it was obvious that it would be desirable to have an
even more capable system. This is especially important if the processor must
support multiple memory resident programs. A current "wish list" would be a
dual processor Pentium II with a minimum of 256MB RAM. Incidentally, the new
Pentium II systems do also have the advantages of the higher speed memory
bus.
