>One of the companies listed does international orders! (As I don't have NS
at the moment, I am not looking at an upgrade.) For 447.03 US dollars (plus
shipping and import duty, of course) I could get the US NS Professional
version. Given that the cost in the UK is generally one dollar to the pound
(as opposed to approx. 1.6 if buying currency), this is definitely a good
deal. Does anyone know how well the US version works with a UK accent? I am
very tempted......<
Hi Andrea,
I've just had a frustrating few days trying to do similar to you. The
expert opinion (thanks Su!) from across the big pond is there should be no
problem with accents -- if the same product can be used in the Deep South
as well as NY why shouldn't it recognise the variety of British English
accents (Cockney slang would be fun to try!).
I really want the US version because I prefer US spelling for the type of
work I do in clinicall research report generation etc. A costly
International call to the Dragon's technical support line confirmed there
would be no problem whatsoever -- I was told you could even upgrade the UK
version 2.02 using the US version 3.0. If you want both versions running,
however, they would have to be set up separately using two different folder
locations.
Imagine my dismay when I received an email reply to a separate query, that
is contradictory to say the least, now stating >You cannot upgrade the
American edition on top of the British edition.< the "cannot" doesn't make
it clear whether it's technically impossible or commercially "against the
rules". There is some comfort: the message does not say that the US
version will not work with a British English accent. I'm told that if you
want support, contact: European Technical Support at
support-eur@@dragonsys.com
Our local VAR is having a hard time with getting information from Dragon.
Come on guys, we love the products but we deserve better than this for our
loyalty to you the Dragon brand.
Andrea, if you make any further progress on this, please drop a line.......
Thanks,
Yours sincerely,
