Method #1: First, you'll need to choose a year from the following URL
(http://voicerecognition.com/voice-users/archive/). From there, it would
probably be easier to search the archive by sorting the messages by thread.
Since I have no idea what browser you're using to view the Web, I'll show
you the Netscape way (if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer you'll need to
find its equivalent). Choose "Find in Page" (Ctrl+F) from the "Edit" menu
and enter your keyword. This method will not "search" each post and report
results like a search engine would, it will only search what can be seen on
that page alone. I suggest a higher cache setting for your web browser when
wading through the archive.
Method #2: With the AltaVista search engine (I'm not sure about others) you
can search a specific computer. You might want to read the following URL
(http://www.altavista.digital.com/av/content/help.htm#simple) for more
details about this option. Here's one example how this can be
accomplished. From the following URL (http://www.altavista.digital.com/), I
typed the following text into the search box "host:voicerecognition.com
text:naturallyspeaking." This searched the "voicerecognition.com" web site
for the word "naturallyspeaking" and returned 842 matches. This will search
the ENTIRE voicerecognition.com web site, which means it will return a lot
of useless pages (for your search needs) from the advertising, forums,
ordering, etc. pages on the 21st Century Eloquence site. It will, however,
search the 1998, 1997, and 1996 archives all at once. Since you're likely
to include a more refined search than the example I've provided, you'll
probably get better results (and fewer)!
