UPS-power supply combo units use a gel-type of battery that is sealed and
unlikely to emit any gas (unless it were badly damaged). If, of course, you
had such a unit and the whole PC in which it was housed were to get
crushed...well, I assume then you'd replace it or discard it and so, once
again, no risk there to speak of.
