Because Windows uses virtual memory (essentially storing the extra stuff
which doesn't fit in your computer's physical memory in a "swap" file on
the hard disk), Out of Memory errors often indicate a shortage of space
on the hard disk, not a shortage of RAM. I would check how much space
is free on C:, where the swap file is usually stored. If you are still
using Windows 3.1, I think that it has a fixed size swap file, which may
have to be increased if you're using a more memory intensive program,
but I am a bit fuzzy on the details. Keep in mind that DragonDictate
and other programs often store temporary files on the hard disk, which
reduces the space available for the swap file.

Well, well! It cannot be helped, and it is difficult not to slip in
talking to a dragon, or so I have always heard.
