Well - it's hard to quantify - but I'll take a wild guess. I've been
using NatSpeak (Personal about 3 months; Preferred about 2 months) - but
definitely NOT on a full time basis! I went through the entire general
training (twice - second time when I changed to the Talk Mic - which is
*wonderful*). I have also run documents through the Vocab Builder about
3 times, each time using the previous documents - and adding a few new
ones with different words: I have a directory on my harddrive that I
keep only NatSpeak docs in in Rich Text Format: rtf), and in addition,
I've read every one of the readings, probably once or twice. Whenever I
use NatSpeak - and errors occur, I always correct them, and train them.
I've trained lots of phrases in the Vocab Editor (like he is, she is, he
was, she was, etc.) This hint came from Holland - and really does work!
My training has been sporadic - never 8 straight hours! Perhaps 1-2
hours once/twice a week (if that). So you see, it's really a variety of
training, and not for long spells - just kinda continuously. I still
correct and use Vocab Editor alot. Perseverance is the key! Don't give
up! And, believe me, I am a very impatient person - so it was hard to
really keep at it. But - it's easier now - and really does pay off!! (I
also have a scanner - so if I have something on paper already typed,
I'll scan it into WordPerfect. Between scanning and dictating, I've cut
way back on my typing. Since I'm not a touch typist - it's been a big
help!)
Hope that helps you!
