Recently I have had the opportunity to purchase a number of speech
dictation tools, and now I am in the process of getting a new computer.
Based on what I've heard in the past on this list, I am trying to get a
PC without any sound card installed so that I can put in the best one.
I had planned on buying a Turtle Beach Tropez Plus because so many
people on this list liked it, but I understand it is no longer available. What
is the next best thing? I will probably be working with both Dragon
(Naturally Speaking Deluxe) and IBM voice products (Via Voice Gold)
initially, and expect to test some others (e.g., Kurzweil medical dictation
systems), as well.
Similarly, I'd appreciate information concerning microphones that seem to
work well across systems. I'll probably start working with whatever
comes with the software, but I'd be curious to know if anyone's looked
at microphones across systems and has a favorite.
Thanks!
