>Hello Jerry,
I run a similar system to this, except my remote session is on VMS
machine not a Unix machine so I use the Eve editor (TPU) and exceed.
I have all sorts of keys defined as short cuts etc. for this set up.
As other people have pointed out, the numeral keypad 2 corresponds
to the down command in DD. There are three places that you can look to edit
to fix your problem and to set up other hot keys... you can change down
command in DD's vocabulary for exceed to be {ExtDown} you can define
key definitions in exceed through the Xconfig facility or, if you have
a smart editor on your remote session, you can get it to do the translation.
Don't give up on this one, it is possible to run remote sessions quite happily.
