200 MHz Pentium w/2 processors and 384 MB RAM
running NT Server 4.0 w/service pack 3
AWE 64 sound card
result:
* DragonDictate 3.02 works fine EXCEPT it sometimes gives me "Generic Window" instead of the correct app name in the voicebar. Strangely, loading MS Excel seems to fix this problem...
* NaturallySpeaking Deluxe 2.02 works fine.
300 MHz Pentium II w/2 processors and 256 MB RAM
running NT Workstation 4.0 w/service pack 3
SB 16 sound card
result:
* DragonDictate will NOT recognize any sound, the microphone works in other apps but the bar on the voicebar that should move when it hears a sound is not even present (although the mic button does turn blue when I turn it on). Dragon Systems is clueless, but hopefully will figure something out... I don't think this problem is because of the dual processors but you never know.
* I didn't try NaturallySpeaking, if DDWIN doesn't work its not worth any more work.
FYI:
normally I work on a 200 MHz Pentium w/128 MB RAM running NT Workstation 4.0 w/service pack 3 and an AWE 64 sound card. It works just fine with both apps.
If I try anything else I'll post again.
If anyone has any ideas on why the microphone isn't recognized on the Pentium II I would love to hear them!
Thanks,
Jamie
