I'm not sure about the second problem but the first error message sounds
like messages I get if something I've installed replaces the infamous
mfc42.dll file with an older version. NS should have the 990k file. It's
gotten to be a frequent enough problem for me that I now have a backup of
this file in another directory so that at need I can reboot in MS-DOS mode
and run a batch file that copies the correct version back into the
Windows\System directory. (Doing it that way avoids any error messages bout
Windows using the file.)
