My experience is with a 9200 mint. With the recent price drops, one could
consider it on the high end of the budget spectrum. Overall, I'm very
happy with the machine. The ability to upgrade the CPU makes this one of
the laptops that can keep up with changes in CPU technology (sort of).
Theoretically I will be able to plug-in a 300 MHz CPU from AMD.
As far as I can tell, the sound system on this laptop is quite good for
laptop but only average for a desktop.
The video quality is astounding for desktop never mind a laptop. The
active matrix display doesn't hurt the eyes either.
Some negative factors are that the machine does get hot but not
uncomfortably so and I've had some early problems with leaving a CD in the
drive causing the system to lock up. I haven't tested lately but I
believe the updates to the BIOS have fixed the lock up problems.
Would I buy another mint? In an instant!
