Dana, I have seen the same thing... perhaps this is an NT problem?
If it happens when I bring up an application, I shut the application
and bring it up again which sometimes fixes the problem. I often
take this as an indication that resources are running out and then
re-boot my computer. (If that doesn't fix it, nothing will!)
For those who say "bring up application" only to have another application
turn up, I hate to ask the obvious, but are you checking your "Oops"
menu to see what Dragon dictate thought you said? I have always had
problems getting "bring up application" recognised, so I resort to
"bring up", wait till that is recognised, "application name" which works
every time.
I had problems with the Windows Explorer as well. If you sit with just
NT running and nothing else Dragon dictate has Explorer written in
the voicebar... so obviously "bring up Explorer" was not going to work
as DD thought it was already running. I re-named the Windows Explorer
short cut on my programme menu to "explore disc" so that DD would
recognise it has something different.
I have never had an application completely mis- recognised so that
the wrong vocabulary was active, only the "generic application"
problem mentioned above.
