I have yet to find a software package (other than most computer games, unfortunately...) that I can't use with DragonDictate. In some I have to design my own macros (for example, using mouse positioning commands to go to non-standard buttons), but most stuff works fine. The irritating stuff is drag and drop, which was awkward with DragonDictate under Windows 95 and is impossible with DragonDictate under Windows NT 4. But I spend most of my time programming, so that isn't a big problem.
I started with DragonDictate 1.3 and I can tell you the performance is much better with 3.0x. You should be able to do everything you need.

I used the Dragon Classic 30,000 version 1.0. I thought
that was plenty of words. I made up a lot of macros of
my own, too. I was hoping to get Nat Speaking to do
the cc-mail interoffice correspondence with supervisors,
other programmers on my team, customers, etc., in
the huge 31 story building where I work. Will I be
able to ccmail on the Power Dragon thing? I don't
work much with Word, etc., mostly programming
and communication by ccmail with other team
members in our building and different states in the
USA. Has the discrete speaking become more
a more natural type of speaking since version 1.0?

I used DragonDictate Power when I first started using voice recognition software, but I've found that Classic is sufficient for everything I need. I believe that the only difference is that Power keeps more words in memory, and the time to get words from disk appears to be negligible so I'm happy.
