There's a line in Dragon.log below that says I have done something in
specific wrong, but I'm not sufficiently computer literate to understand
and correct it. I do expect it's something about how I retrained it this
week. I didn't uninstall and then install; I just deleted the current
and backup voice files. The next time I started it, it went into
initial training, as I wanted. But, as I say below, it worked fine for
days after I did that.
It would be nice if I could fix this without uninstalling and
retraining.

When I start Dragon NaturallySpeaking, I get the following message when
it is loading my speech files:
SDAPI returned an unexpected error code: details are 21 SDVoc_OpenGroup
[dfstream] line0:|
The program then closes. I have been using NaturallySpeaking for months
and have never had this problem before. I have restarted the computer
several times and tried to start NaturallySpeaking again, but this
happens every time.
I recently deleted my user files and reran general training (recognition
had been deteriorating and I realized the batteries in my booster for
the mike had gone dead; my voice files were all messed up from this and
I decided to begin again from scratch). However, NaturallySpeaking
worked fine for several days of intensive use after I did this.
I am using NaturallySpeaking Personal Edition version 1.0; my computer
has a Cyrix 6X86-166 processor with 64 Meg of RAM, and I run Windows
95. My sound card is a Turtle Beach Tropez Plus, not OEM. My
microphone is the original VXI that first shipped with
NaturallySpeaking. Dragon.log is appended.
