The Recording Volume under Audio Properties on my system seems always to
track the Mic Volume control (Volume
Controls/Options/Properties/Recording/OK). When you have the verical Mic
Volume control showing there should be an "Advanced" button at the
bottom. If you click this you will get another screen that varies
depending on sound card type. On many sound cards this screen will have
a "Mic Boost", or "20 db boost" option. If you check this box it will
add extra amplification to the Mic circuit.
Do you mean both the Recording Volume under Audio Properties and the Mic
Volume controls are at maximum? If so, you should either check the Mic
Boost box, or get a different Mic or different sound card so you can
increase the volume the computer sends to Nat.
Be aware that Nat resets the volume control every time you click
"finish" at the end of the Audio Setup Wizard. To keep the volume set to
something different than what the ASW picks you have to run the ASW,
stopping when you see the Finish button (don't click it) then open the
Mic Volume control, move the slider where you want it, THEN click Finish
on the ASW.
