Naturally Speaking on IBM 560E

I've been trying to get Dragon Systems' Naturally Speaking to work on an IBM
Thinkpad 560E, but the setup says that the speach quality is unacceptable.
We've tried adjusting the windows control panel for various combinations of
sampling and filtering, to no avail. The same mic and program works fine on
a Gateway desktop with a 16 bit Soundblaster card.
Any suggestions?
