memory. It's key delay. Dragon slows down the keystrokes so that
very slow applications won't miss any. I have trouble believing
though that any application in this day and age need it as slow as
they make it! DragonDictate doesn't slow things down anything like
as much, either.
Larry Allen sent me email reminding me that there was something on
Joel Gould's Web page addressing this problem.
Go to:

and then go to How to Speed up Macros.
It explains how to modify the Windows 95 Registry to turn off key
delay. Looks to me like it is just a toggle, on, off. This will
also speed up Natural Text, as well as macros. I don't know if it
will help Natural Word as well.
I've made this change for one application, and it has definitely
improve the keystroke input rate to something satisfactory.
