As soon as I find the specs for my card I'll post it. I am cleaning
up my office and seem to have misplaced it.

The noise level is about 1-3 usually and never exceeds 7-8. The signal
level is never high enough to get a S/N of anything significantly
greater than 20 which always works out to at best "average".

IT is higher than the other mic but the signal level is also higher.
I tried the AGC off and on and can't seem to get it right.

I tried all variations of that too while watching the power spectrum.
I don't think that's the problem. IT could be my speech patterns or
noise from some other place. Higher pitch does seem to get slightly
better results. I tried even to eliminate all background noise
but the fan noise is still there. If a good mic does not do it
then I have to fiddle with the sound card (as much as I hate to
do so).
