It's only because as a newbie to speech recognition, I'm concerned the
most about dictating accurately and speedily without complication.
Starting with DNS, I had a very pleasant introduction after I resolved
an MWave soundcard problem (took it out). I then started VV because it
apparently will work with the MWave as well as a SoundBlaster, and I'd
like to have my MWave reinstalled.
When you're at the start of the learning curve, it's hard to have
confidence that a more complex (adding command and control) program will
help you to learn to dictate faster. For example, to my chagrin, I find
VV much more difficult (as a newbie) to correct than DNS was with its
"select" command. On the other hand, I was hoping that VVG had a less
tedious training process. DNS seemed to get good much faster because of
the initial input of a lot more material by straight reading into it.
An upgrade to VVG and its command and control would be less threatening
if the training process were reported to be more efficient (or perhaps
less negative and frustrating) than I'm finding VV. Apparently no
special VV->VVG upgrade incentive from IBM, tho.
