You have been lucky. Turtle Beach say that the Tropez Plus is not
compatible with DX5 and that the only way to get compatibility is to use
the Crystal Driver. Having read the Crystal Spec I asked whether full
duplex would be supported and their support man says not!
My experience of losing sound may be unusual. DirectX seems to have formed
an attachment for the Sportster Wave facilities instead!
The way Turtle Beach think that they can walk away from a product sold in
1997 defies belief. I am marshalling my attack. I support disabled
people, one of whom needs his full duplex facilities. I expect TB will
point at Microsoft for not recognising their board.
I am not worried about DirectX as such but for sure Microsoft will use some
of the technology in Win 98 or beyond.
