My computer at home, the internet connected one at work, and my
daughter's computer all crash while disconnecting Dial-up Networking.
I don't think it is connected with any voice recognition programme
because not all those computers have voice recognition loaded. The
work around is to make damn sure *nothing* else is occupying the CPU
while you disconnect. Very hard to do but you can minimise it e.g.
use the short cut keys to disconnect rather than the mouse because
even moving the mouse off the button while it is disconnecting can
crash it.
