I have a full-duplex sound card correctly installed, it is a SoundBlaster awe 64. I have it configured for full-duplex operation. And this full-duplex operation works perfectly with all other applications. But when the DragonDictate microphone is on, I can only play midi sounds, not even the system beep works. If I start up in application that plays sound before I run DragonDictate, then I try to run DragonDictate, I get an error message saying that another application is already playing sound. When I yell into the microphone, I hear my voice come out of the speakers. DragonDictate is apparently for some reason feeding the microphone input to the speakers, preventing other sound from playing. I know someone else who has the same problem. Dragon Systems tells me that I should be able to play sound, but they have no idea why I can't. Does anyone out there successfully play any sounds when DragonDictate microphone is on? Midi sounds don't count, nor does it count if you have a second sound card in the same computer. If anyone can shed any light on this situation, please do. I didn't spend $220 on a new sound card (to replace my half-duplex card) just for the fun of it. Thanks. Chuck Wells
