What is a VXI PARROT Translator and what
does it do?
A VXI PARROTT Translator makes VXI PARROTT headsets compatible with
any PC, laptop or palmtop soundcard, preventing incompatibility, a leading
cause of voice recognition failure. By detecting the bias and resistance
of the PC and balancing it with the headset's, the VXI PARROTT Translator
allows maximum voice recognition accuracy right out of the box. It also

Do you need to add batteries to the
Translator?
Adding batteries to the translator will be necessary if your
microphone is not working. Basically, adding batteries will "turn
on" the microphone. This is typically necessary for customers who
have older computers (purchased 2-3 years ago) and for those using laptop
computers.

Why can't I just purchase a Translator
separately?
A translator is a product that is hard wired onto the PARROTT headset,
therefore it cannot be purchased separately. However, for those needing to

What is the difference between the PARROTT
QD-31 and the QD-35?
The QD-31 is an over-the-ear headset that we no longer manufacture. The

What is the PARROTT 10? PARROTT 20? How do
they differ from the PARROTT 10-3 or the PARROTT ST?
The PARROTT 10 and the PARROTT 20 are both upper halves of the PARROTT
QD-10 and the PARROTT QD-20. The PARROTT 10 and PARROTT 20 have a
"Quick Disconnect" plug and can fit into a PARROTT Connector
Cord (NOTE: if you purchase a PARROTT 10 or a PARROTT 20 please keep in
mind that this is only the top half of a QD headset system.) The VXI
PARRTT 10-3 and VXI PARROTT ST are "Plug & Play" models that
connect directly to your computer's sound card.

Is one VXI PARROTT headset different than
another?
The only differences in the different VXI PARROTT headsets are the
features that the headsets offer. For example, the VXI PARROTT 10-3 covers
one ear (monaural headset), and the VXI PARROTT ST covers two ears
(binaural headset), but they both have the same microphone. Hence, your
voice recognition quality would remain the same using either headset, but
they offer different comfort features. One person might consider the VXI
PARROTT 10-3 enough to suit their needs, while another person may prefer
the VXI PARROTT ST because they enjoy listening to CDs on their computer
and would like a headset that covers both ears. Both headsets are highly
functional for speech recognition.

What is a VXI PARROTT Bias Box?
A VXI PARROTT Bias Box connects your headset to your computer, similar to
the VXI PARROTT Translator. The Bias Box makes the headset compatible with
most computer sound cards, and it will also improve your dictation, since
it provides the optimum voice output. It operates for a minimum of 1 year
from two AA batteries, and includes a battery test switch. The Parrott
Bias Box was used before the Translator existed. It is a great solution if
you have previously purchased a Parrott headset that was not bundled with
the Translator. If you have a Translator, you do not need a Bias Box.
