The Desktop Interface Kit
This new device is an add-on
for the Olympus
D1000 digital recorder. It is used for transferring the recorded
dictation from the D1000 to your PC. It is a great tool for people who
wants to be able to dictate "on the road" and NOT have the
recorder "tied up" to the PC when transcribing.
The Miniature Card
Reader/Writer provides a printer pass-through feature. The customized
parallel port connector allows you to plug your printer cable into the
parallel port cable of the Miniature Card Reader/Writer. This allows you
to share your computer's printer port.
The Way It Works
Once you have installed the
Reader/Writer drivers, the DDSs software and plugged the Desktop
Interface to your parallel port, you will then open the DSS Player by
clicking the Start button and choose "Olympus DSS Player" icon
from Windows' Program menu.
To start downloading the recorded dictation, remove the miniature card
from the Olympus D1000, place it in the Miniature Card Reader/Writer and
click the Download button. All the audio files recorded on the Olympus
D1000 are copied to your hard disk within a minute.
Start Dragon NaturallySpeaking, click the "Tools" menu and
click "Transcribe".
That's it!
