Corporation Introduces iPARROTT™ Computer Headsets For Apple®
Users at COMDEX
LAS VEGAS, NV, November
15, 1999 - VXI Corporation, the award-winning manufacturer of
Parrott™ Speech Recognition headsets, is introducing its new
iParrott™ line of speech interface products, specifically
engineered for plug and play compatibility with Apple® Computers,
at Comdex Fall '99 underway at the Las Vegas Convention Center. VXI
was the first manufacturer in the industry to announce the
development of a speech recognition headset, specifically engineered
for use with Apple® and iMac™ computers, in July of this year at
MacWorld Expo in New York.
VXI Corporation is a leading manufacturer of precision headset
systems and electronics for telephone and speech recognition in
computer applications. iParrott headsets are distributed by Macsense
Connectivity of Santa Clara, CA, a leading supplier of network
hardware products to the Macintosh community.
VXI has won a number of awards for its speech recognition hardware
in the PC and laptop world, including being voted best performing in
a recent poll of readers taken by Speech Technology Magazine. VXI's
patents-pending Translator™ Technology has yielded a product with
a speech distortion rate that is five times lower than competing
headsets. A factory-adjusted current mirror provides large
microphone signal swing without distortion while high and low pass
components assure flat voice frequency response. It all boils down
to speech that comes across loud and clear and the technology is now
available to Apple® and iMac™ users.
VXI's iParrott line of speech interface hardware is designed to
further enhance the Apple® speech recognition experience by
isolating the user's voice from the background noise employing a mix
of advanced noise canceling technologies. It's an ideal solution for
dealing with noisy environments. iParrotts work with all Apple® and
iMac™ sound I/O ports and can easily be added to any home or
business application.
The first two iParrott products to be offered to Apple® users are
the iParrott MultiMedia 10-3 headset and the iParrott MultiMedia ST
Stereo headset. Both units employ iParrott Translator technology for
maximum speech recognition accuracy and both can be used with many
other computer applications including Internet Telephony, Voice
E-mail, Gaming, Video-conferencing and Command & Control.
iParrotts are currently available in Blueberry Blue. Various other
colors will be available soon.
