VXI'S
PARROTT™ Headsets Voted Best Performing In a Poll Of Readers Taken
By Speech Technology Magazine
NEW YORK, NY, October 27,
1999 - Parrott headsets, manufactured by VXI Corporation of
Rollinsford, New Hampshire, have been rated best performing in a
poll of readers taken by Speech Technology Magazine. The Peak
Performance Award winners were announced during the SpeechTek '99
conference and exhibition organized by Comtek International and held
here at the New York Hilton, October 26-27.
"We asked our readers to cast their ballots for the strongest
products in a number of speech recognition categories including
headsets and microphones," said Brian Lewis, executive editor.
" VXI's entry, Parrott, received the most votes for the best
performing speech recognition headset product." The award
plaque reads: Comtek International presents this Peak Performance
award to VXI for headsets, to honor their innovation in advancing
the development of speech recognition.
Foremost in speech recognition hardware, VXI Parrott headsets work
with speech recognition software to provide superior voice
recognition accuracy. The Parrott Switch™ 60V and the Parrott
Translator™ , combined with the industry' most advanced
microphone, provide universal compatibility with PC soundcards and
laptops.
" We are gratified to learn that speech recognition users from
around the country have voted Parrott the best performing headset
from among a list of prominent headset manufacturers," says
Richard Hale, president and CEO at VXI. " We've known for some
time that Parrott was a winner but when the people who use speech
recognition software programs everyday take time out to cast first
place ballots recognizing Parrott as the best, that's really solid
proof of performance. "
The Parrott Switch 60V is specially designed to work in conjunction
with Parrott brand headsets. Technologically advanced, yet easy to
use, the Parrott Switch 60V enables users to perform multi-tasked
headset functions with greater sound quality, comfort and
convenience.
The Parrott Switch 60V is a unique device that has the added benefit
of enabling the user to seamlessly alternate between a PC and the
standard telephone. It was selected by the editors of Call Center
Solutions magazine and the engineers of TMC™ Labs as a Product of
the Year. By changing the microphone path at the push of a button,
the Parrott 60V provides users with the convenience of a single
headset for a multitude of tasks. The Parrott Switch 60V saves time
and provides greater comfort by eliminating the need to switch
headsets or to continually unplug and re-plug two separate cords. In
addition to accurate speech recognition, the Parrott Switch 60V lets
users maintain constant contact with a caller while inputting data
into the computer.
Another recent VXI engineering first is the Parrott Translator™.
The Translator, integrated with VXI's Parrott headset, provides
universal compatibility with PC soundcards and laptops ensuring
successful speech recognition and operation. The lack of
compatibility between the headset and the computer, not the
software, is the cause of many consumer problems with speech
recognition. The Parrott Translator was created to detect and
"translate" the bias from the computer or laptop and
supply the microphone with the necessary bias. In December, 1998,
Parrott Translator received a Product of the Year Award from CTI
Magazine. CIT's selections include products that are deemed to be
the best and most innovative in their field.
