VXI Partners
with Corel Corporation
Rollinsford, NH,
May 17, 1999 - VXI Corporation, a leading manufacturer of
precision headsets and amplifiers, teams with Corel Corporation as a
provider of Parrott Headsets for Corel® WordPerfect® Suite 8 with
Dragon Naturally Speaking™.
Foremost in speech recognition, VXI Parrott headsets work with
speech recognition software to provide superior voice recognition
accuracy. The Parrott Translator™ (patents pending) combined with
the industry's most advanced microphone, provides universal
compatibility with PC sound cards and laptops.
The lack of
compatibility between the headset and the computer, not the
software, is the cause of many consumer problems with speech
recognition. Some desktop and laptop computers do not supply
sufficient bias to the headset to perform optimally. The Parrott
Translator™ was created to detect and "translate" the
bias from the computer or laptop and supply the microphone with the
necessary bias. Additionally, the Parrott Translator increases the
performance of the microphone, which is already the industry's best.
(In December 1998, CTI magazine awarded VXI's Parrott Translator™
as the "Product of the Year." CTI's selections include
products that are deemed to be the best and most innovative
available in their field.)
At PC Expo 98, an
initial meeting with VXI and Corel Executives took place. As a
result, the initial supply order for Parrott headsets for use with
WordPerfect programs (with Naturally Speaking) was placed.
"When we switched
to the VXI Parrott headset, we noted a reduction in the amount of
technical support calls we were receiving. The Parrott, with its
built-in Translator, can solve the power output variations between
the different manufacturers of sound cards. This eliminates a major
technical support problem. It is an excellent product," says
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing for Corel Corporation,
Kerry Williams.
"VXI Corporation is
very proud to partner with such an outstanding firm as Corel,"
says Victor Temple, Executive Vice President of VXI Corporation.
VXI Corporation is a
leading manufacturer of precision headset systems and electronics
for speech recognition in telephone and computer applications. VXI
offers a full line of headsets with monaural, binaural, over-the-ear
options. VXI's Parrott headsets have been rated top performing by
Dragon Systems, a leader in speech recognition software. Established
in 1989, VXI is headquartered in Rollinsford, NH, with sales offices
