Students
In many instances
your local school board may be able to facilitate the purchase
of iCommunicator
software for deaf and hard of hearing students.
Usually, this process is started by a formal written request
from the student, and/or their parent.
To assist you in
this process, the following is a Sample Request for
Consideration to obtain iCommunicator from your local school.
Dear School Board,
My (son, daughter)
is hearing
impaired, and is having difficulty in school because of
this disability.
There is a new product available
which I believe would greatly assist (him, her) in successfully
completing (his, her) school work.
This product is
called iCommunicator, version 3.1.
Please see the Attached
Candidacy Criteria,
and the attached Feature
List, for a more detailed
explanation of what iCommunicator can do for my (son, daughter).
The base cost of iCommunicator
is $3999.00. In addition, a high powered laptop computer is
required. This will add approximately $2000.00 more to the
cost. Finally, I understand that approximately 1 day of training
is usually required, and this will likely cost $1000.00. This
totals approximately $7000.00.
I would greatly appreciate
it if you would consider this request at your very earliest
convenience.
