I've just upgraded my PC and ready to make the investment in voice recognition software. I've looked at Dragon's, IBM and L & H. Both IBM and L & H offer medical specific programs. Using L & H as an example. Their Professional package lists for about $150. Their Medical package is about 10 times more. Can anyone tell me whether the medical edition is superior enough to the Professional edition to warrant the additional expense. I would be looking at the mental health/psychiatry edition. The lanquage should be much less of a problem for the software to learn than for the other medical specialties. My inclination is to go with the less expensive Professional edition and train the software. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had any experience with any of the medical specific software, and anyone who has any thoughts about the feasibility of training the less expensive software.
