vv and wordperfect

I'd appreciate comments and advice regarding VV and WordPerfect usage. I found one post on the list but it was related to WP 8 and I'm in state government. We're still using WP 6.1 and I don't think there is money for upgrade. However, if VV is only going to be effective with WP 7 or 8, I'm pretty sure I can get it. Some of the earlier reviews and comments which I found seemed to imply that you couldn't dictate directly into WP but the IBM promos for the 98 VV seems to indicate that you can. thanks.
