I'm interested in using a speech recognition program (which would be best?) to caption/put into print a church service, especially the sermon. We would like to do this like real time captioning on news broadcasts on TV (that is done by a court reporter kind of typist). We want to do the sermon with speech recognition software and display the words of a TV screen for the deaf and hard of hearing to read, real time, while it is happening. Can we do this from the PA system? Does the pastor have to train the program to his voice in the same setting (ie, in the church, with the PA system)? Could the rest of the service be done in the same way> What about singing? What about 2-3 pastors participating during the service? Or do we need to pretype the rest of the service (other than the sermon)? Ideas and comments would be apprediated.
