Upon exiting MS Word 97 (with Service Release 2 applied) after closing a document, winword causes an invalid page fault error in the mfc40.dll.
According to Microsoft's Technet support database this is a known problem attributed to the IBM Voicetype Simply Speaking Gold Edition. Their response is to give a fiddly and annoying workround of making sure you create & close a new blank document before exiting Word, or to contact the vendor (i.e.IBM) for further support.
IBM`s support site only has a limited FAQ section for that product, and I can't seem to find any downloadble patches, or links to specific fixes for this problem - indeed, no mention of this problem seems to exist.
Has anybody got any further ideas, or am I just gonna have to learn to live with this ? ;-)
