I have never used voice recognition software before but I want to get some to save my hands. I'm a programmer who does most of his work in integrated developer environments such as Microsoft Visual C++, Visual Basic, etc. I create a limited number of documents and spreadsheets using Word 97 and Excel 97 but most of what I do involves navigating around my programming environments (clicking through menus, clicking icons, writing code, etc.). I've heard that ViaVoice is better at application navigation and mouse operations associated with it than Dragon Naturally Speaking is. Is this true? What would be the best voice recognition software for a person like me?
