vv98 Exec and softwar conflict

I recently had to 'uninstall' my vv98 because it was crashing my Explorer 4.0 whenever I tried to expand the window. It would also crash the application whenever I tried to type a message into the text box to send e-mail. This last fault occured whether I was in the mini Outlook with Explorer, or the actual application of Outlook. Everything back to normal after 'uninstall'. I seriously doubt that this is normal. Is there a "patch" available out there to prevent this so that I can re-install?
