I have absolutely no trouble using PowerSec with OS 8.1 on a PowerBase 200. My advice: Make sure almost every Extension is disabled except display/printer and PowerSec. QUICKTIME ESPECIALLY seemed to interfere. On the 6400, make sure you have any system software fixes that machine should have. Also, use a wordprocessor, like ClarisWorks, that won't gobble system resources. Hope something here helps.
