DNS simply requires a high-quality sound card. Your slot and IRQ requirements will be defined by those of the particular card you choose. Among the cards that have been tested and certified by Dragon Systems are PCI and 16-bit ISA cards, and cards that use anywhere between 2 and 6 IRQs.
Laptops with built-in sound are a safer bet than using a PCMCIA card, but only if you choose one listed as "Certified" from the Dragon Systems compatibility list (see link). There *is* a certified PCMCIA card, but its difficulty of installation ranges from true Plug-n-Play to a true nightmare.

: What are the IRQ and slot requirements for DNS?
: Is it possible to use it in a laptop (i.e., PCMCIA)?
: Thanks.
