Apparently there is a new release from Dragon Systems called NaturallySpeaking Preferred Edition (not to be confused with Deluxe edition). While it is supposedly being positioned as a mid-range product between Personal and Deluxe, it has almost ALL the features of Deluxe, including multi-user capability, text-to-speech, and larger vocab. It began shipping on November 5, according to Dragon, and has a list price of $199, although Tiger Direct, in a telephone interview, stated they will be selling it for $170. According to Dragon, the Deluxe Edition also began shipping on November 5. If the new Preferred edition is $170 - $199, and coming soon to a mail-order catalogue near you, I don't understand why Dragon Systems would continue to produce the Personal Edition, unless they're planning to lower its price well below $100 to compete with IBM. Thoughts?
