I have the same laptop. Sony says it does not work with Dragon in their tests. I had to purchase a separate PCMCIA sound card (Wav Jammer - see Dragon web site hardware compatability list) With the auxilliary sound card it works rather well. You still have to manually set the volume quite low using the sound recorder control under windows.
