Voice recognition resources needed for a research

We are, as a beginner group, looking for existing software resource about voice recognition. Our target is to get the all power of artificial intelligence techniques. Aggressively we're seeking for all ways to develop a sample, intelligent voice recoginiton software. The only problem is to find sample program codes and detailed articles about methods of voice recognition. We need some help to find out the path we have to follow. And also we need an advice for what programming language is satisfactory to do such a development.
