Not to get too far from the subject, but this makes me think that SR can (and should in my opinion) be used to replace closed captioning. This would eliminate the frustration experienced by CC users when a non-captioned program is on, since a computer inside the television would caption EVERYTHING. Also, another idea is to build a radio that has a small screen that can display text, and hard-of-hearing listeners can read the text of what is being spoken on the broadcast. And there are other applications involving the telephone.
