I've had similar problems.
Last November I bought Via Voice to assist in writing up my Masters thesis. I've just installed the program on my laptop and have begun the difficult task of training the system. I have become quite frustrated with this process as it constantly detects background noise, and therefore will not let me proceed to the next phrase.
Having completed only 38, of the 256 phrases, I may be better off taking a typing course! Any suggestions?
