Problem with using Via Voice

I recently loaded Via Voice and went through the enrollment no problem.

When I went to use the program and clicked "Start Dictation" - I got an error message saying that another program/application was using my sound card. This is impossible as the only program open was Word.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this strange problem.. If not any numbers for technical suport for Via voice.
