Voice Recognition in the future

I am a British student currently studying for a degree in Computer Studies and have a great deal of interest in voice recognition software, systems and related technoloy, especially with what the future has in store ie will voice recognition become the dominant form of computer systems input within the next 10 or 20 years.

If there is anyone out there who can offer any information, views or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
