Third Party Multimedia Hardware Compatibility List

~This report lists the notebooks and sound hardware that Dragon System's
Evaluation department has evaluated in its compatibility labs. Each hardware
device that we accept into our labs is run through exhaustive tests to
determine compatibility with DragonDictate for Windows software.
NOTE: While the ACPA card (available only from Dragon Systems) is certified
to be compatible with Dragon Dictate for Windows, it is considered
neither third party nor a Windows multimedia card so it is not included
in this list.
TESTS PERFORMED
o Hardware Acoustic Test
A set of tests that verify the quality of the sound hardware. Noisy
hardware can degrade performance of DDWin below acceptable levels.
o Software Compatibility Test
A set of tests that verify that the DragonDictate software is
compatible with this notebook and its software drivers.
MICROPHONES
We certify compatibility with one of two microphones:
o Shure SM10A headset : Dynamic, noise canceling.
o VXi headset : Electret (requires bias voltage from microphone
port), noise canceling.
CERTIFICATION LEVELS
o Gold : Hardware has passed both acoustic and software compatibility
tests.
o Silver : Hardware has passed acoustic tests. Software compatibility
tests were not performed due to time or availability
constraints.
Hardware is tested for functionality with both DragonDictate for Windows
versions 1.3 and 2.0 and certified hardware is compatible with both
versions except where noted.

Dragon Systems cannot predict or control the manufacturing or quality

functionality of DragonDictate for Windows software with the hardware
in this list.
