Full Version: Stopping capitalization after a street name

John H. Power
I frequently have to dictate addresses such as 144 15th Ave. And when I do Dragon always capitalizes the following letter as it has done in this example. Is there any way to avoid this happening in this specific instance? I have the most recent version.

Thanks.

You might want to update your profile at some point which states that you're using DNS Preferred 9.

NaturallySpeaking's default formatting options do not automatically capitalize the following word after dictating an address with an abbreviation such a “144 15th Ave. as you can see”. The previous phrase should not suffer from this problem in DNS Pro 11.

If you have made any formatting changes, you might try switching to the default settings for test purposes. If the formatting options are not the culprit, did you perhaps change the properties of the word Avenue in the vocabulary. You shouldn't have to make any changes in the vocabulary but you could apply a special rule. If you'd like additional information on this process, you might consider reposting this question on the KnowBrainer Speech Recognition Forums so that we can insert JPEG's to clarify some of your Vocabulary Editor options. We are not able to add JPEG's on this forum.
