Full Version: Moving between fields

Am using Dragon Nat Speak 10 Medical and make extensive use of template dictations with embedded variable fields. Have found that I can navigate between fields by voice commands 'next field' or 'previous field'.

I would like to be able to select any field by saying only one or two words of it's text content, like 'select kidney field' to select the field that contains the text 'Both kidneys normal with no stones or obstruction' for example.

Any way of doing this? Dragon will allow selection of any text within any given field but that's not that helpful.

Thanks for any help.
KnowBrainer Tech Support
This can be accomplished in NaturallySpeaking Medical if you want to take the time to create an Advanced-Scripting HeardWord command. For example, the following script would select [Kidney]

Sub Main
HeardWord "select","left bracket","Kidney","right bracket"
End Sub

However, if you don't want to go through creating 100 or so commands, you can optionally grab a copy of KnowBrainer 2008 which already includes this technology along with 11,000 or so additional commands

Another possibility may be to use the "select <word or phrase> THROUGH <word or phrase>" commands. So in your example, you could say "select both through obstruction"

What will work best will depend on how your templates are set up and maintained, the application you are using for dictation, and personal preferences.
